About Pragya Nepal

Who We Are

Pragya Nepal is a student-led initiative working to bring health education, rights awareness, and essential resources to women in underserved communities across Nepal. We believe that knowledge is the first step toward change. As young students, we design and direct community level outreach projects to break taboos, distribute health supplies, and empower the next generation of girls.

Breaking the Silence in Nepal

In many parts of Nepal, critical issues like menstrual hygiene, reproductive rights, and female financial independence are deeply stigmatized or rarely discussed openly. This silence leaves young girls without accurate information, isolates them from resources, and forces many to drop out of school or miss out on higher education.

Why What We Do Is So Important

We believe you cannot empower a community without first equipping its girls with autonomy over their health and their futures. Because we are students ourselves, we have the unique power to speak directly to our peers, break through old taboos, and introduce new pathways. Nepal is a rapidly developing nation, but it cannot reach its full potential when half of its population faces systemic barriers to basic health, education, and resources. True national progress is impossible if young girls are left behind. By starting with basic health literacy and expanding into critical areas like financial independence, academic development, and future technical skills, we are building a replicable model for grassroots outreach led entirely by young Nepalis. We aren’t just running workshops but ensuring that the girls who will shape Nepal’s future have the tools, the confidence, and the opportunities to build it.
